How do you make your bathroom feel right and get the look what you want?
Certain design principles need to be followed to modernise a bathroom and make it work. Here’s a few pointers and questions we take into consideration when it come s to bathroom renovations.
What is the first thing you look at when you open the door? – Hopefully not a toilet!
Would it be sensible to alter the layout?
Can you borrow space from an adjacent room?
Would it create a more usable space if you moved the entrance door or added a cavity slider?
Can you put a mirror above your vanity or is it under a window? – Mirrors are functional and add a classy feel. They also make a space appear larger.
It is always a great idea to have a power point next to the vanity
Is there adequate ventilation? – Ensure you have a top quality extraction fan positioned in the centre of the bathroom (not over your shower) to keep the damp and mould at bay.
A lighting upgrade can add a touch of class, and for the ladies out there, you can never have enough light if this is where you put on your faces each day.
What can you put on your walls? Painted gib, tiles, seratone, or hardieglaze are all options. Let us help you with your budget planning.
What flooring should you use? There are plenty of flooring options to choose from. We can help you to choose which is right for you.
Tiling can make a space cold in winter, but does give that luxurious look. Once you feel underfloor heating, you’ll never live without it. What sort of heating will you use?
And remember this…
As with any renovation, a bathroom renovation can be a major disruption. You might need a temporary toilet on site. We will make sure you are impacted as little as possible by scheduling all trades as efficiently as possible and keeping a tidy and presentable work area.
